Pimped out skateboard project- Caddiboard.

This was a recent project, just for fun, that I did between batches of surfboards. Wanted to try something new and different, something cool and pretty, but not as big as a surfboard... kind of a palate-cleanser, as it were.

So, I came up with the idea of making a foam-core skateboard (well, I didn't exactly invent the concept) using the same methods I do to make my surfboards. The biggest departures from my surfboard techniques were; 1. using a male mold to press the foam and wood layers onto the foam core and make the concave and nose/tail flips, 2. using plywood inserts where the trucks bolt through the deck, and 3. using an additional cosmetic layer of veneer over the top of the balsa. Other than that, it was pretty much business as usual.

With the blinging rims and pimping wood grain, I"m calling this one my Caddi-board.
